ABOUT ME

Academic Alex Cruz dos Santos is the National President and Founder of the Frente Nacional de Negros e Negras (FNN — National Front of Black Men and Women), one of Brazil's leading organizations in the fight against racism, for equality, and for social justice. Born in the Alto das Pombas community in Salvador (BA), he holds a degree in Humanities and is a Law student at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). From a young age, he became a reference in grassroots mobilization, leading initiatives in peripheral communities and acting directly in moments of great social urgency. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he coordinated solidarity campaigns that delivered food, hygiene products, and psychological support to families in vulnerable situations. In moments of calamity, such as the heavy rains that struck various regions of the country, his work ensured shelter and care for hundreds of displaced people, always with a sensitive and collective outlook. His work is marked by a commitment to life, dignity, and peace. Alex is also the creator of the Observatory of Justice and Human Rights and leads over 20 social and cultural projects that promote education, income generation, culture, and citizenship. His trajectory is an example of resistance, bridge-building, and love for the people. He is today one of Brazil's greatest social leaders.
