ABOUT ME
Academic Edson Santos is a Commendator of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Arts, History and Literature (ABRASCI).
An artist of national and international recognition, he stands out not only for the excellence of his artistic output but also for the sensitivity with which he places his art at the service of others, reflecting generosity, simplicity, and remarkable charisma — qualities that make him a source of pride for ABRASCI.
He was inducted as an Academic by ABRASCI in Brasília on July 31, 2021, with Jean-Michel Basquiat as his patron.
A guardian of national historical and artistic heritage, he also serves as an ambassador for culture and world peace. His reimagined works and sculptures cross borders, with an established presence in 13 countries: Italy, the United States, Germany, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, and Angola.
His career has been widely recognized by the media, with numerous reports and features in news outlets in Brazil and abroad, highlighting the relevance and impact of his work in the contemporary art scene. His hometown is Recife, but for decades he has lived in Jardim Botânico, Brasília.
