Eduardo Barreto Vasconcelos Junior (graduated in Biological Sciences from UFRJ) was a Biology and Science teacher/coordinator for 33 years at the most renowned schools in Rio de Janeiro, 17 of which were at the German School Corcovado (Deutsche Schule - RJ). Since 2024, he has lived in Germany, in Bad Krozingen, a city near Freiburg (in the state of Baden-Württemberg), with his wife and 3 children. In Germany, he participated in integration and orientation courses for immigrants, in addition to developing an educational platform for Brazilians and Germans. He is an "Immortal" Academic of ABRASCI (Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Arts, History and Literature), occupying Chair No. 80 of the College of Education Sciences. He also has extensive experience in education, both in teaching and in serving on examination boards for the development and grading of various public and private competitive exams (for university admission and/or for teaching, biology, and laboratory technician positions) throughout Brazil. He was a member of the team that developed the Brazilian Biology Olympiad (OBB). He was part of the leadership of the "Escolas Rio" entity, created to assist in integration and the sharing of experiences in education in the city of Rio de Janeiro. He worked as the Brazilian coordinator for the BLI (Bund-Länder-Inspektion) pedagogical quality inspection and certification, created by the German government, achieved (with a seal of excellence) by the Deutsche Schule Corcovado. Another achievement was the honor he received from the Rio de Janeiro City Council, called an Honorable Mention and Commendation for services rendered to teaching. He was a founding member of the first teachers' association in Brazil of the Society of Saint Teresa of Jesus, an international educational and religious institution present in 23 countries and founded in Spain in 1876. From this renowned institution, he received a plaque of honor and gratitude for 32 years of work and commitment as a teacher and educator.
