Academic Eduardo dos Santos Sepe Calçada, a former futsal athlete who never imagined attending college, was invited at age 20 by the coach of Universidade Gama Filho to play for the university team. He took the entrance exam and joined the team on an athletic scholarship. Right after graduating, he began working under a health insurance plan to earn 7 reais (per session), but things gradually improved. He stopped playing and became the physiotherapist for América in futsal. In 2009, he joined Flamengo's field football program, spending 11 years between the youth and professional squads. He had stints with Brazil's youth national teams and participated in the 2016 Rio Olympics with the Brazilian synchronized swimming team. Since 2021, he has been at Vasco da Gama, currently heading the club's football physiotherapy coordination.
He holds a postgraduate specialization in Orthopedic Physiotherapy and a degree in Exercise Physiology, along with several certifications in the sports field.
