ABOUT ME

Fernando Zasso Pigatto, graduated in Environmental Management, has been a National Health Council Member since 2014, elected President of the National Health Council (CNS) and re-elected in 2021. He was a journalist at the newspaper Gazeta de Rosário and headed the cabinet of the Santa Maria City Hall, advising the Youth Social Consortium Project of the Federal Government's First Job Program in the Porto Alegre metropolitan region. He held leadership positions in secondary and university student movement organizations and in family farming producer associations. He was President of the Primavera Neighborhood Residents' Association and Secretary-General of the Union of Villages and Neighborhoods (UVB) of Rosário do Sul, state director in Rio Grande do Sul, and Planning Director of the Gaúcho Federation of Neighborhood Associations and Community Entities (FEGAMEC). He has served as Planning Director, Secretary-General, and is currently Director of Health at CONAM. In the realm of social oversight, he has participated in conferences, seminars, congresses, symposiums, workshops, assemblies, working groups, technical chambers, commissions, and councils, including the National Council of Cities, on the Technical Chamber of Environmental Sanitation. He served as Coordinator of the Intersectoral Health Surveillance Commission, responsible for coordinating the 1st National Health Surveillance Conference and for the approval of the National Health Surveillance Policy (PNVS).
