Ismael Gomes is a physiotherapist (CREFITO-10 No. 120706-F | RQE No. 1070150352), researcher, and international entrepreneur, recognized as a national and international reference in orthopedic physiotherapy, sports rehabilitation, applied biomechanics, and health entrepreneurship. With more than 18 years of professional experience and more than 50,000 patient visits, he has built a unique career that integrates clinical excellence, scientific rigor, and innovative business vision.
He is a doctoral candidate (PhD candidate) and holds a Master's in Human Movement Sciences from the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC), a national reference institution in biomechanical research. He holds specializations in Orthopedic and Traumatology Physiotherapy from PUC-PR and in Sports Physiotherapy from COFFITO/SONAFE. He graduated in Physiotherapy from UNISUL, with additional international training validated in the United States (Bachelor of Science in Nursing – BSN).
In recognition of his significant scientific, clinical, and educational contributions to the advancement of Brazilian physiotherapy, he was honored with the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in Health Sciences by UNISCECAP.
In the institutional and academic field, he is a full member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Arts, History and Literature – ABRASCI, occupying Chair No. 293, a distinction that symbolizes his ongoing commitment to scientific excellence, high-level professional training, and the integration of academic research, clinical innovation, and technological development in health. In 2024, he received the Virgílio Várzea Medal, one of the highest honors granted by the Florianópolis City Council (SC).
On the international stage, he is an international member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS – USA) and was part of the official medical team for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, a historic milestone for Brazilian sports physiotherapy.
He holds significant professional leadership, having served as President of SONAFE-SC (2021–2023), a period during which he promoted scientific congresses, symposiums, and professional development initiatives, strengthening the integration of science, clinical practice, and sports management. He also serves as a delegate of CREFITO-10, representing the profession on technical committees, inspections, and institutional projects to advance the profession.
In the field of entrepreneurship and innovation, he is CEO and founder of Clínica Ismael Gomes, one of the most recognized physiotherapy clinics in Santa Catarina, a reference in orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, and high performance, with protocols based on scientific evidence and advanced technologies such as isokinetic dynamometry, focal shockwave therapy, high-power laser, PRP, and 3D biomechanical analysis. He is also CEO and founder of IG Global LLC, based in the United States, a company dedicated to international consulting in health, medical entrepreneurship, and executive education, promoting strategic connections between Brazil and the USA.
He is the creator and mentor of the FisioPro® Mentoria and Doctors League programs, focused on training health professionals with an entrepreneurial mindset, technical authority, and high-value management. He developed the H.E.A.L.™ Method (Health Entrepreneurship Acceleration League), through which he has already trained hundreds of professionals throughout Brazil, and is currently in the process of international expansion.
He serves as a professor in postgraduate and MBA programs in Health Entrepreneurship, contributing to the training of a new generation of professionals who combine clinical purpose, technical excellence, and strategic business vision. As a researcher, he is dedicated to applied biomechanics, orthopedics, and rehabilitation, with a focus on quality of life and functional parameters in patients with hip dysfunctions, especially femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAI), maintaining collaboration with international research centers.
A recognized national and international speaker, he addresses topics such as innovation in rehabilitation, evidence-based physiotherapy, medical entrepreneurship, clinic management, and professional development, inspiring health professionals in Brazil and abroad. He is also a developer of technological solutions, such as the FisioZap platform and the Rowly V3.0 multisensor biomechanical analysis system.
A native of Cruz Alta (RS), married to Maria Luiza Brodbeck, father of Felipe and Marielle, he has resided in Florianópolis for more than 23 years, where he built his professional and academic career.
