Academic Ivan Castelli is a physician graduated from the University of Brasília (UnB) in 1982, with a residency in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Hospital de Base de Brasília. Throughout his career, he has held prominent positions in both the public and private health sectors. From 1985 to 2016, he worked as an intensivist at FHDF/SES, where he was Head of the ICU/HRT for 10 years, preceptor for FEPECS and the SES medical residency program for 7 years, and General Director of HRT for 2 years. He also served as Regional Health Coordinator for Taguatinga and Samambaia and was Deputy Secretary of Health Care at the Federal District Government (GDF).
In the private sector, Ivan was a founding partner of Pro Cardíaco DF and General Director of Hospital Daher Lago Sul for 5 years. He also served as Director of the Center-West Region for the health insurance provider Medial Saúde SA, Vice-President of América Health SA, and President of DF Empreendimentos e Participações Hospitalares Ltda, responsible for the acquisition and renovation of Hospital São Braz SA, sold for R$220 million to Hapvida. He is also the owner of Clínica de Medicina Integrada Planalto Ltda, which offers services and consulting in the health field. His career also includes significant participation on boards of directors and executive committees, such as the Board of Directors of the Teaching and Research Foundation of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FEPECS/SES), the Federal District Health Executive Committee linked to the National Council of Justice (CNJ), and the Fiscal Council of the 5th SEC.
