Academic João Augusto Ribeiro Nardes, born in Santo Ângelo, RS, is a Brazilian administrator and politician with an extensive career. Graduated in Business Administration from FUNDAMES, with postgraduate and Master's studies in Development in Switzerland, Nardes began his political career as a City Councilman for ARENA in Santo Ângelo.
He was a State Deputy for the PDS and, later, for the Partido Progressista Renovador. In 1994, he was elected Federal Deputy and re-elected. In 2005, Nardes assumed the position of Minister of the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) after resigning his mandate as Federal Deputy. In 2015, Nardes was also admitted to the Order of Military Merit and the Order of Rio Branco. His career reflects a lasting commitment to public administration and institutional integrity, distinguished by his contributions to the management and oversight of public finances in Brazil.
