Academic Joelma Duarte de Souza is the eldest daughter of Aubedengaro Pereira de Souza and Olga Correia Duarte, born in the city of Ipirá, Bahia. At 18, she moved to Salvador to study theater, and at 25 decided to move to São Paulo, where she began a Law degree; however, fate led her instead to study Psychology in Portugal. There, she specialized in various areas of psychology and complementary fields, built a family and a solid career, and created Instituto Joelma Duarte, whose mission is to bring knowledge and well-being to all those seeking mental health and personal development, both as a psychologist and as an educator.
