Academic Orlando Teixeira Maia Junior, a physician graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Campos, became a neurosurgeon through medical residency at the Galeão Air Force Hospital, and trained in interventional neuroradiology at Hospital da Beneficência Portuguesa. He is a full member of the World Federation of Neuroradiology, served as President of the Rio de Janeiro Society of Neurosurgery from 2018 to 2021, and is a full member of the Brazilian Society of Neurosurgery, the Brazilian Society of Interventional Radiology, and Neuroradiology. He is head of department and residency preceptor. A career military officer in the Air Force, he retired as Lieutenant Colonel. His scientific output includes 201 lectures given and 86 publications.
