Academic Rafael Santiago Floriano is a physiotherapist with 20 years of experience, specializing in respiratory physiotherapy and intensive care. He served as Head of the ICU at Fiocruz during the pandemic, publishing a pioneering protocol for the home rehabilitation of COVID-19 patients. He coordinated the Technical Chambers of Cardiovascular Physiotherapy and Urgency and Emergency Care over the past four years, being a specialist in Cardiovascular Physiotherapy and holding a Master's and Doctorate in Cardiovascular Sciences from UFRJ. He is currently a post-doctoral candidate in Rehabilitation Sciences and a member of the UFRJ Research Group on Cardiorespiratory Assessment and Rehabilitation, in addition to being the author of three books and an associate professor in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in physiotherapy at the same institution.
