ABOUT ME
Sergio has built a singular career uniting creativity, cultural production, environmental education, and audiovisual innovation. He began his professional life in the family's clothing business, working for years in the manufacturing and sale of themed costumes. From this experience, he identified the opportunity to add cultural and symbolic value to the products, directing his creative work toward genuinely Brazilian characters.
From this vision was born the project "Liga da Mata," conceived with a focus on environmental protection, ecological balance, and socio-environmental education. The project unfolded into a literary trilogy beginning with "Liga da Mata – O Renascimento da Alma," which gave rise to a digital series dedicated to contemporary themes such as animal trafficking, ecosystem coexistence, and environmental preservation.
In 2019, Sergio joined the theatrical production team responsible for creating the first 100% Brazilian children's musical, "Liga da Mata – O Renascimento da Alma – O Musical." In the same year, he established an international partnership with Young Man Kang, audiovisual creator and founder of Asia's largest web series festival, to develop a Brazil–South Korea co-production focused on the healthy food market.
In 2020, he founded the Brazilian Association of Independent Digital Content Creators – DigitalBR, of which he is president, consolidating his institutional role in advocating for independent audiovisual production in Brazil. His international relevance was reflected in his work as a juror at festivals in Peru, New Zealand, and the United States, including events sponsored by Full Sail University. In 2021, he received the Michael A. Ajakwe Jr. Award at the Asia Web Awards, a distinction granted to some of the world's most relevant series creators.
Also in 2019, for being among the ten most awarded series in the world, he was nominated to participate in MIPCOM, in Cannes (France), the largest global entertainment industry event. The series Liga da Mata achieved historic prominence by positioning itself as the most awarded Brazilian series at that time, achieving 11th place at the Web Series World Cup in 2019 and 6th place in 2020.
In 2022, he was appointed Ambassador of Full Sail University, in Orlando (USA), officially serving as an institutional representative and juror at various international festivals. He is also an official speaker of the Rio Webfest in the 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 editions, reinforcing his commitment to training, the dissemination of knowledge, and the strengthening of independent audiovisual production.
In the social and educational field, in 2023, he created, in partnership with the Sorocaba City Hall, a workshop for children in the public school system, with support from the companies Tilibra and Sorridents, expanding the pedagogical and social reach of his work.
