Valdir de Castro Miranda was born on June 18, 1956, in the city of Breves, in the state of Pará. He began his academic life in Belém, PA, in 1972, initially studying International Relations at FIBRA - Faculty of International Relations of the Amazon Basin. Later, in 1974, he moved to Brasília, where he studied Economics at AEUDF - Federal District Unified Education Association, graduating in 1977, and worked as a judicial expert at TJDFT in the economic field. In 2000, he began studying Law at IESB - Higher Education Institute of Brasília, graduating in December 2004. In the legal field, he worked as a collaborator for almost a decade with the Special Courts and the Public Defenders' Office in conflict conciliation activities and public legal advocacy for the most needy, while also practicing as a litigating attorney since February 2005, in various areas of law, predominantly in civil, family, and labor matters. He served as Deputy Secretary-General of the OAB/DF Subsection during the Ibaneis Rocha administration and as Vice-President of the Paranoá Subsection during the Juliano Couto administration. In the current administration, he held the presidency of the Land Affairs Commission of that subsection. Since 2014, he has been a member of ABRASCI – the Brazilian Academy of Science, History, Geography and Literature, occupying Chair No. 26, in the field of Legal Sciences.
