ABOUT ME

Vanessa Aparecida Azevedo Siqueira was born on August 16, 1983. A psychologist, pedagogue, conflict mediator, and author, she has built a career marked by a commitment to education, emotional care, and a culture of peace. She holds a solid, multidisciplinary academic background, with degrees in Psychology and Pedagogy, in addition to various postgraduate specializations in cognitive-behavioral therapy, conflict mediation and conciliation, special education, specialized educational support, and educational guidance and supervision. Trained as a judicial mediator by the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro and in forensic examination, she also works as a trainer for professionals in psychology, socio-emotional education, and conflict mediation. A tenured civil servant of the Petrópolis City Hall, she held strategic coordination and management positions, playing a fundamental role in implementing public policies focused on inclusive education, conflict mediation, and restorative justice. She is notable as director of the first Reference Center for Inclusive Education and as coordinator of the School Conflict Mediation and Restorative Justice Program, pillars of the Petrópolis da Paz Municipal Restorative Pacification Program. She also contributed to drafting municipal legislation focused on a culture of peace and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. In her psychological practice, she works mainly with children, adolescents, and families, offering parental guidance and interventions focused on strengthening family bonds and emotional development. Her practice integrates clinical care with the educational and preventive dimension. In the field of children's literature, she is the author of the book "Campeonato das Emoções," a work that translates her clinical, educational, and family experience into an accessible and sensitive language, promoting dialogue about emotions and emotional intelligence. The book has been presented as a therapeutic and educational resource at scientific congresses and nationally relevant literary events, having received academic recognition for its impact on preventing trauma and violence in school settings. She also works on socio-emotional training projects in schools, educational and corporate events, and in sports settings, encouraging peacebuilding practices and the healthy development of children and adolescents. A member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Arts, History and Literature, Vanessa also received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa, honors that recognize her contribution to psychology, education, and social transformation. For her, joining a century-old Academy represents the honor and responsibility of being part of a living history, committed to the preservation of knowledge, innovation, and the building of a more human, empathetic, and just future.
