Academic Walfredo Campos Maya Júnior (Wolf Maya), born in Goiânia in 1953, is a Brazilian actor, director, and producer with a notable career in theater and television. He studied acting at Tablado and at the National Conservatory, and specialized in musical theater in New York at the Carnegie Hall Ballet. He began his career in the 1980s, quickly distinguishing himself as a soap opera director. At Rede Globo, he directed iconic productions such as A Viagem, Mulheres de Areia, Senhora do Destino, and Amor à Vida, establishing himself as one of the network's leading directors. In 2016, after 35 years of work, he left Globo to explore new projects.
In parallel, Wolf has always been connected to theater, founding the Wolf Maya Actors School in 2001, with units in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, dedicated to training new talent. In 2016, he opened the Nathalia Timberg Theater, honoring the actress and friend. In 2019, he was briefly hired by the Portuguese network TVI to direct the soap opera Na Corda Bamba, but was dismissed after criticizing local television drama, a fact that generated repercussions.
Father of actresses Maria and Manu Maya, and uncle of actress Thaís de Campos, Wolf Maya built a legacy of innovation and excellence in Brazilian dramaturgy, being recognized for his contribution to theater and television.
